TheSugarHill

Founded in March 2020, The Sugar Hill  started out as cookie business from home. We have grown into a trusted culinary business dedicated to providing high‑quality service and committed to create a space where compassionate, trauma-informed support is at the center of all we do. As a husband‑and‑wife team, we combine professional industry experience with a passion for delivering community support and meaningful learning experiences.

Our approach emphasizes patience, empathy and strong communication, ensuring that all our participants feel heard, respected and understood.

We recognize that each of our participants come with unique experiences and needs, and we strive to meet them where they are at when they come into the kitchen, whether that means emotionally, socially and developmentally.

We currently support 45 children and youth through our programs and extend our impact to more than 15 families by providing donations (such as clothing, books, baby items etc.)  and connecting them with local resources and community supports. None of this would be possible without the incredible support of our family and friends who believe in our vision and continue to champion our work. Through our programs, we have built meaningful partnerships and community connections with organizations such as Art House, the YMCA, Next Door Kitchen, and various programs offered through the Halton Region.

These relationships have helped us create opportunities for participants, strengthen community engagement, and ensure families have access to valuable resources and supports. In addition, a portion of the income I earn as a baker through the sale of custom sugar cookies is reinvested directly into our initiative, helping to purchase ingredients, supplies, and other essential items for our culinary drop-in programs. This personal contribution, combined with the generosity of our supporters and community partners, allows us to continue serving families and creating welcoming spaces where children and youth can learn, connect, and thrive.

We also specialize in custom‑designed treats and beginner‑friendly cooking and decorating classes that bring people together through food, creativity, and hands‑on learning. Our culinary workshops are designed to be welcoming, engaging, and skill‑building, offering participants a supportive environment to explore new techniques and gain confidence in the kitchen while fostering safe and trusting relationships and promoting our participants' well-being and growth through community empowerment.
